March 2020

While cleaning out my studio a few weeks ago,
I came across a large painting (70×70) I had done a couple of years ago.  Without much thought, I sent it to Clayton Lane gallery in Cherry Creek. The paintings name… Corona- a golden crown.  Yes, its name has inspired all sorts of reactions.  When I painted it, I was not anticipating the pandemic, obviously, yet now I wonder about the connection.  As with all of my work,
I can see a message.
Recently someone asked me if I thought I had a purpose in this life, and I responded without hesitation, to bring more beauty to humanity.  So it is with that intention, I share this painting.  I am not, in any way, discounting the tragedy; I am making a choice to see the other side… For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction (Newton’s 3rdlaw), the balance of Yin and Yang, light and shadow, etc.  I know, without a doubt, there is beauty in this experience, and it is a choice to see it.  I see the opportunity for personal and collective growth.  I see the opportunity for re-prioritizing our values.  I see the opportunity to consciously choose LOVE over fear.  The list goes on and on…

I’ve heard the virus does not like the sun, so perhaps this image will help.

Ps- some people say there is a golden crown in enlightenment, a halo…  the definition of corona, something to ponder?
